Description: The Fat Cats, Rocking the World, Music Festivals, with their brand of Original Rock. Staight forward yet complex, this Northern Minnesota band brings to their listeners a mix of eclectic and versatile stylings of original music
Biography: The Fat Cats,
The Fat Cats originally formed in 1990. Original group members were Wes Horn (bass and vocals) from Dilworth, Minnesota and Steve Ingberg (drummer) from Fargo, North Dakota.
The Fat Cats started to shake things up around 1998 when they began getting air time with high profile artists such as ZZ Topp, REO Speedwagon, Little Feat, The Spinners and many other well known artists. Meanwhile during this time period, they went through a dozen drummers. A decision was made to slow things down a bit and stop touring when they became discouraged. That decision began a fire storm of interest in their music. It took on a life of its’ own. This interest brought The Fat Cats back to center stage and with the return of Steve Ingberg, their original drummer, they were once again a tight group, focused and ready to roll forward.
Band members include:
Douglas Newman - lead vocals/key’s/congas
Kerry Boyd -lead guitar/keyboards/vocals
Wes Horn -bass guitar
Steve Ingberg -trapp drums
Today, the band has a whole new fire in them and a new focus. They are veteran musicians with an undetermined amount of musical resources available to them. They are very happy in their current state and look forward to playing familiar along with new places all over the world.
The Fat Cats are playing to national and international audiences, appearing annually at Dragfest, Terrace Bay, Ontario, Canada, repeat engagements in San Pedro, Belize, Central America. They have also had offers to tour in Europe and the U.K. and at exclusive resorts in Mexico.

The Fat Cat’s newest single, “To Be With You”, is off of their newest CD, “Rubbed”. This is representative of their live performances when the ladies always go up to rub the lead singers stomach. “It’s a feel good song – a happy song, outlining the days events in my mind from beginning to end.”
This CD is very diverse in the sense that their songs are so different from each other. They go from a pop style to a bluesy type song. The guitar playing is phenomenal and the vocals are perfect to the story that they are telling. The Fat Cats are a great group with a true eclectic library of songs and styles and an absolute pleasure to listen to!

Biography: RETRO DELUXE – A New Band of Blues
Retro Deluxe, a hot new blues band from Bowie, Maryland, was born to rock the blues. They’re also a band to be reckoned with, and when you hear them, you’ll know why. Retro Deluxe is proud to present their debut CD of all-original songs aptly titled, “Baby It’s Hot!” It is now available at: http://www.retrodeluxeband.com.
Retro Deluxe is composed of five innovative and talented bluesmen; lead guitarist John McCloskey, bassist Preston Wood, veteran drummer Rob Smith, keyboardist Dave Gorozdos, and the bluesy, boozy, seductively soulful vocals of the group’s founder (and relative newcomer) Bobby Joe Owens.
Retro Deluxe is paving the road to success, and attracting an ever-growing blues-loving audience, with select shows in clubs and private events and opening shows for International Acts like Bill Kirchen and The Nighthawks. Like most artists who must pay their dues through sheer hard work, they haven’t given up their day jobs – yet, but that’s sure to change, because these dedicated performers define the blues, and the blues defines Retro Deluxe.
Retro Deluxe has created a strong online presence through their Website, http://www.retrodeluxeband.com, and have also gained lots of airplay on popular (and free) music sites, including Jango.com, which introduces new, unsigned artists daily and asks listeners to “Make or Break” new songs by clicking “Thumbs Up,” “Thumbs Down,” or “Become a Fan” icons, and providing Website links for each group. Almost overnight, Retro Deluxe won over Jango members. They are now one of the hottest groups on this site, where their brand of blues has created a strong, dedicated worldwide fan base, with fans in over 50 countries. It is worth noting that Retro Deluxe fans have clicked the “Play This Song Often” icon for all of the group’s original songs––a rare achievement for new artists!
Retro Deluxe is taking the blues in new and exciting directions, and one can only imagine what they’ll create for future release. They are already working on their follow-up CD which is targeted for Mid-April 2010. Clearly, these guys are on their way, so go and get yourself some of their howlin,’ growlin’ blues today! “Baby It’s Hot!” is available on: http://www.retrodeluxeband.com, iTunes, Amazon, Napster, and many more online music stores.
Description: Equal parts modern rock edge and soulful vocal styling, RIAD offers electrifying original music featuring strong male and female vocals combined with pure rock adrenaline.
Biography: Biography
As the saying goes, “Rome wasn’t built in a day.” Rome In A Day, an internationally touring melodic hardrock band from DC, couldn’t agree more. The name is a satire, intended to convey the point that in an industry where there is such a focus on instant gratification, great things still take time, patience, dedication and, most of all, hard work.
The band originated as a solo project sparked by front man James Stevens. In August of 2005, James began assembling a group to bring his solo compositions to the stage in a full band environment. Through this search James met Adam Lee, the first and last drummer to audition for the new project. It was then that the idea of expanding this solo effort into a full-on rock band became a realization. For over a year James and Adam played local and regional shows often with friends filling in on bass. The name Rome In A Day was christened in April of 2006 followed shortly thereafter by the band’s debut recorded offering, a five song EP entitled “Thin Air.”
The band started to really settle into its own in December of 2006, when Ali DiPippo came onboard to play bass guitar. In Ali, Rome In A Day discovered not only an accomplished bassist and vocalist, but also an exceptional talent for songwriting. Ali’s progressive rock background added an edgy twist to the material that has been regarded as a cornerstone of the band’s new sound. The trio continued to perform and write original material when in April of 2007 the final piece joined the puzzle in the form of bassist Jay Brazao. With Jay completing the lineup, Ali shifted to her more natural role of lead guitarist and the rest as they say, is history.
From a musical standpoint, Rome In A Day has something you may not have seen before. Equal parts modern rock edge and soulful vocal styling, Rome In A Day offers electrifying original music featuring strong male and female vocals combined with pure rock adrenaline.
Rome In A Day has performed at several of the region's top venues, such as the 930 Club (Washington DC), The State Theatre (Falls Church, VA), Ram's Head Live! (Baltimore, MD), Grape Street Pub (Philadelphia, PA), Arlene's Grocery (New York, NY), and Harper's Ferry (Boston, MA). Recent performance highlights include "Shamrockfest" (DC's largest outdoor music festival held at RFK Stadium), Dewey Beach Music Conference, Steamtown Original Music Conference, DC101's Last Band Standing Competition, a Washington National's MLB Game, and an Armed Forces Entertainment New Years tour to Diego Garcia in the middle of the Indian Ocean.

Release:
Washington Post (C. Woodrow Invin):
"If Rome in a Day doesn't make it in the music business, it won't be for lack of three qualities that help decide such things. The Washington-based band has youthful energy, good looks and talent in abundance."
PensEyeView.com (Richie Frieman):
"It takes talent and endurance to break through… qualities Washington, DC alternative act Rome in a Day has no shortage of."
DCist (Chris Snyder):
"Rome In A Day is just as determined to mark their own territory with the driving force of raw alternative-rock and a powerful set of lungs belonging to front man and DC native, James Stevens... Upon first listen one might compare James’ soulfully edgy vocals to artists such as Gavin DeGraw or Butch Walker..."
Addicted (MySpace Music):
"When my ears first heard the sounds coming from my headphones I was hooked from that moment on. Never did I think to change the track. One of the HOTTEST unsigned BANDS to date!!"
Description: From the Ashes of the river city St. Louis comes Defiance Pointe. The quintet’s array of hard-hitting edgy riffs, dark melodic lyrics and intense live show, creates a rock sound that is ever evolving and unique to the genre.
Biography: On a cold winter day the members of Defiance Pointe congregated for the first time in a basement in the small town of New Melle. The original quintet had one goal in mind, to create a sound that is ever evolving and unique to the St. Louis music scene. It didn't take long for them to start making an impression, with their array of hard-hitting edgy riffs, dark melodic lyrics and a intense live show, it was clear Defiance Pointe and their fans we're here to stay.
Defiance Pointe started in the little town of New Melle (sister town to Defiance) in the 2005 by two of the founding and current members Derek and Jake. Originally the band was named after the city of Defiance. The name Defiance was taken, so we were forced to change our name so Pointe was added to keep the band name a place not just a label. “Our name has a strong meaning to us”, says guitarist Jake. “We want to stay close to our roots no matter where the road may lead us, we will always be like the people of Defiance going against the grain; we will always be Defiance Pointe.”
Some things come and go like the Defiance Pointe line-up but the music hasn't skipped a beat only intensifying with the addition of each new member. "We're kind of like Spinal Tap", says bassist Jimi, "It seemed like every few months our drummer would have some kind of accident, move to another state, or just disappear". The current drummer Len Kiraly brings with him a veteran musician's attitude after and a stage show far exceeding the band's expectations. "It may have take three, four, eight drummers but we've found the long lost member of the family we've been seeking the last four years", laughs Jake,"but everything happens for a reason, and I'm sure we are right where we're supposed to be".
In the winter of 2007 a pivotal moment took place for the band when three of the original members moved to other states or chose other paths. It was definitely a dark day for the band now only Jimi and Jake but perseverance would prove rewarding. When Derek called in May the band had been jamming with new drummer Alex Rivera and we're working on the songs right where they had left off back in 07. Derek had news that he had found a indie label that wanted to sign us and get us back in the studio and within a few weeks the band was back in the studio completing their first full length album with Rich Criebaum at Trailer Studios. Upon the completion of the album the members jumped in with both feet and moved up to Kalamazoo MI to reassemble the band.
It only took a few nights of hanging out and jamming with Sean to realize he fit in Defiance Pointe perfectly and could easily pick up where the former lead guitarist Cody had left off. After booking and playing their first few shows in Michigan and St. Louis that summer it was even more evident that the band had something really special. In both cities people were singing the songs sometimes louder than Derek,"It was amazing to see all these people coming out show after show bringing new fans with them that had our album memorized!", Derek recalls,"The CD hadn't even been released yet and we were breaking presale ticket records in two states".
With the additions of Alex and Sean Defiance Pointe was stronger than ever and finally ready to release that album they had recorded a year before. On March 7th "Until the Dawn" was finally released on iTunes and local music stores. Shortly after the release only five days later DP opened up for Saliva at Planet Rock, a few days after that they won their slot to open up for a lot of other national acts at the annual Pointfest in St. Louis. "We were really starting to head in the right direction," says Jake,"and fulfilling a dream of mine from when I was a kid, playing Pointfest."
Over the past four years Dp has done exactly what they have set out to do only getting better at it and adding new members to the family along the way. Defiance Pointe is now something bigger than any one person in the band or the band itself, its become a major piece of other people's lives that we've touched. The fusion of all these influences is what gives Dp their substance and ability to deviate a sound refreshing to the rock world.

Release:
"Influencing people shouldn't be too hard for Defiance Pointe. Woodworth and Gillespie produce intense guitar riffs full of emotion, while Schenck has a powerful and sometimes haunting voice that will appeal to all rock fans."
-Brandy Pecor, the Wentzville Journal
"Defiance Pointe is a band that can entertain you not only audibly but visually. Audiences pay attention when they hit the stage. We hope to see big things from this band in the near future."
-Becky (club owner), The Pit StL
"The band plays an operatic kind of nu-metal grunge. It's low-tuned guitars with lots of minor-key melody, heavy hooks mixed with wide-open breakdowns. And atop it all is Schenck's long-note, smart-melody vocals. It's the sound of Staind or Stone Sour. "
